Why This Is The Best Time to Grow on LinkedIn
The transition from short-form content to long-form content views
The transition from short-form content to long-form content views is here!
Something I’ve noticed in the past few months is the fact that many of the creatives that I follow have been moving towards creating podcasts and newsletters.

I think this comes on the tail end of the short-form content boom that really started in 2020, but short-form content isn’t enough to really get your thoughts out there and share information that is more than just a 1-minute long TikTok or Reel.
Even longer YouTube videos have been popping up on my feed, and are very much welcomed (considering I can easily watch 50-min YT videos and love longform content).
With this, I’ve also noticed a bigger transition to longer, written content like LinkedIn posts, Newsletters, and blogs. People now want to hear stories, learn your perspectives, and get to know you through your content, which is really difficult to do using short-form video.
So, what’s the takeaway from all this?
If you’re reading this newsletter, that means you’re (at least somewhat) interested in growing on LinkedIn or even your own newsletter/blog, this is your chance to get started!
People are realizing the impact that short-form content is having on their attention-spans and many have been making a conscious decision to move away from those content types.
Plus, all the steps it takes to start these things are free! Ex:
To start a newsletter on Beehiiv (the platform I use for my cybersecurity newsletter with 6k+ readers and 100% recommend!): https://www.beehiiv.com?via=Sandra-Liu
To start a podcast: https://riverside.fm/
To start a blog: https://medium.com/
And of course, LinkedIn (which you likely already have!): https://www.linkedin.com/
FYI, I’d also consider starting a newsletter on Beehiiv very similar to a 2-in-1 newsletter + blog so you won’t need a separate platform if you decide to create one!
Remember, the hardest part is starting. And by reading this email, you’re already halfway there!
Best of luck! Feel free to send me your newsletter if you do decide to create one, would love to check it out :D
Best, Sandra
